7 Sure-Fire Ways to Have More Fun with Video!

back to blog home

If you're like me, sometimes it can be a drag making videos. Yet it's so important to do to grow our businesses. So to help you take action, here are seven sure fire ways to have more fun with video!

WATCH THE VIDEO BELOW!

FUN TIP #1: GO TO YOUR happy PLACE TO make your OUTLINE

Because here's the thing, having a video outline makes it so much easier when you're actually filming your video. It makes the filming process super fast and easy.

But second, going to your happy place will also get your creative juices flowing in your beautiful brain!

As for me, I love swimming laps. It's one of my favorite things to do. Then after I swim laps, I'll lounge on one of the pool side chairs, grab my laptop and work on my video outlines.

Or if it's the winter time, I love to go to my favorite coffee shop and sip on a vanilla latte (one of my favorite drinks!) while working on my video outlines.

Where's your favorite place to go to? Where ever it is, it'll definitely make it a lot more fun (and you'll be more productive, too!)

Fun tip #2:  listen to your favorite tunes while you're setting up

Don't you love listening to fun music?! It gets you in a happier mood and just makes life a little more fun!

Think about what your favorite songs are that fill you with positive energy. For me, Harry Styles is a go-to ("Watermelon Sugar" is a fun one!), One Republic ("I Ain't Worried is one of my faves! And not just because the visuals are great from the Top Gun Maverick movie. LOL), and Ed Sheeran is always amazing!

Fun Tip #3: have your favorite drink while you're getting ready

Tip number three is to have your favorite drink while you're getting ready. So I love vanilla lattes, green smoothies, positive tea... (I know, pretty much everything, right? haha)

cup

But today I actually have water. It sounds boring...but I have this cup that is so cute. It's a cup with pictures of my boys and me in Maui. And then it says, “Here comes the fun." It's perfect!

So have fun with your drinks and enjoy the process. Let me know in the comments...what's your favorite drink?

Fun tip #4: buy a new top

Yuppers! Go shopping and spend some money on yourself. You deserve it! Why? Because buying a new top makes you feel so good when you wear it.

Whether you're an online shopper or you love going to the mall, have fun!

My current go-to shop right now is Stitch Fix. And guess what! You can get $25 to spend at Stitch Fix with this link!

Fun tip #5: glam yourself

glam

Fun tip number five is to glam yourself. Yes! Put on extra makeup, curl your hair, get that manicure that you haven't gotten in a while, etc. Make yourself feel good and beautiful because you are! You are beautiful. So, show off your gorgeous self on video!

And a hot tip—eye makeup is super important for video because that's where you want people to look at—right in your eyes. So I wear a lot more eye makeup than I do when I'm not on video. I'll actually wear mascara, eyeshadow, and eyeliner. It really helps your eyes stand out in the video.

Fun tip #6: Make fun expressions for your thumbnails

thumbnail-montage

Fun tip number six is to see what different fun expressions you can make for your thumbnails. So first off, your thumbnails for your videos are super important. Second, the more animated and expressive you are in your thumbnails the more clicks you'll actually get which means the more views you'll have.

So have fun making super animated facial expressions. Then you can laugh at yourself afterwards. Haha... But remember: it's strategic too!

Fun tip #7: celebrate

Yes! Go on a hot date or go out to dinner with friends. Because, girl, you look amazing! You're wearing great makeup. You have a new top on. You've been listening to your good vibe music, and you're super productive because you just filmed yourself on video. High-five for growing your business on video!

I'd love to hear how you're celebrating! Like tonight I'm having dinner with friends. (One of my friends is visiting from Florida!)
